Lead Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a high-profile mining project. This role will be based in Brisbane and is essential to providing technical leadership, ensuring the successful planning, design, and execution of critical mechanical engineering aspects of the project.

Key Responsibilities

– Lead the mechanical engineering team in designing, planning, and executing mechanical systems and processes for the mining project.
– Provide technical oversight, ensuring engineering standards, codes, and safety regulations are met.
– Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet project objectives, timelines, and budgets.
– Conduct and supervise technical reviews, risk assessments, and quality checks throughout the project lifecycle.
– Identify, analyze, and resolve complex engineering issues, ensuring efficient and effective project outcomes.
– Support project planning with input on equipment selection, layout, and resource requirements.

About You

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
– Extensive experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the mining, resources, or heavy industries.
– Proven leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor an engineering team.
– Strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of engineering standards.
– Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
